This past semester, I studied abroad in Granada, Spain, through the Department of LAS to pursue my double major in Spanish and Accountancy. I chose to do a program outside of Gies as it allowed me to not only pursue a dual degree, but also gave me the opportunity to meet others in my Spanish major. Stepping out of my comfort zone by not being constantly surrounded by my DSP friends was a challenge, but I had the chance to visit them over six times throughout the spring semester in cities like Barcelona, Madrid, and Milan, among many others.

 

I will never forget visiting my DSP brothers, like staying in their apartments as it gave me insight into their daily lives in their host cities. I also will never forget staying in hostels together, or our boat ride “fail” in Barcelona (it was a bit too wavy). I am extremely grateful for this experience and strongly encourage everyone to consider studying abroad!
